I get a timed out error, no matter where I put the slider in the settings. Rename or delete that file somehow? This isn’t a matter of not “wanting” to use my webhosting company’s settings, it’s a matter of them not working.
I like Outlook for this as I have several email addresses. I know I’m not the only person with this problem, which started when I upgraded to Windows 8. There just has to be solution, and “living with” an annoying pop up box isn’t really the solution I was after.
This fix does not work unless you add 2 Ps to the entry Suppress , Microsoft have made a typo. Afterwards I continually received the certificate warning and so a web search of the issue was made and I found my way here. I too also looked at editing the Registry as per the link within this thread however thought to myself, why edit the Registry when the alert is an advisory warning? The warning, to me, was a hint that the email account settings were not quite right.
